The day of Vasant Panchami is celebrated on the fifth date in the Hindu calendar. The day Panchami Tithi prevails between sunrise and noon is considered to be the correct day for Saraswati Puja. In the Hindu calendar, the time between sunrise and midday is also known as forenoon.

Mother Saraswati can be worshiped at any time on Vasant Panchami, but the morning is considered suitable for worship. In all education centers and schools, Saraswati worship is done at the same time as the blessings of Goddess Saraswati.

Importance of Vasant Panchami

Indian Almanac consists of 6 seasons. Of these, Basant is called the 'King of the seasons'. Spring is a festival of blooming flowers and the arrival of new crops. Rituraj spring is very important. After the cold, nature's beauty is formed on seeing it.

In this season, mustard crop in the fields with yellow flowers, flowers on mango trees, greenery and pink all around makes the cold weather even more pleasant.

If seen from the point of view of health, then this weather is very good. New consciousness is communicated in humans as well as animals and birds. This season is also considered favorable for Kama Baan.

As per Hindu convictions, Goddess Saraswati was conceived on this day. This is why this festival is very special for Hindus. On this festival, people bathe in holy rivers and along with it, spring fair etc. is also organized.

Why is Saraswati worshiped on Vasant Panchami?

While creating the universe, Brahma created the human and animal vagina. In the meantime, he realized that something was missing due to which there was silence everywhere. On this, Brahmaji sprinkled water from his kamandala with which a beautiful woman with 4 hands, holding a veena in one hand and the other hand in the Vermudra and the other two hands with a book and garland, appeared.

Brahmaji requested Veenaavadana on which the goddess gave Veena sweet melody. On which speech and water stream began to clamor and wind began to rustle in all the animals of the world. Then Brahmaji named that goddess 'Saraswati, the goddess of speech'.

Maa Saraswati is also known by many names like Bagishwari, Bhagwati, Sharada, Veenavadini and Vagdevi. Lord Brahma originated Mata Saraswati on the day of Vasant Panchami, that is why every year, on the day of Vasant Panchami, worship is done as the birthday of Goddess Saraswati.

Method of fasting Saraswati
